ChatGPT is a good talker. It isn’t your report.
General AI reads blood tests well. What it doesn’t have is you: your lab’s ranges, your age and sex, your last report. Move the age slider and watch the same TSH value change meaning — on our real ranges.

What ChatGPT does better
We would rather you trust us because we are honest than because we hid the other side.
It will talk about your diet, your sleep, your mother’s diabetes. We stay inside your report and our sourced base.
Already on your phone. Our free plan covers one report; the full toolkit is €19.99 once.
It knows conditions we don’t rate. That is exactly why we recommend using it after your values are explained properly — with the explanation pasted in.
What peer-reviewed studies found
We don’t say AI is wrong. We say it doesn’t know you — and the studies show where that bites. Each card links to the paper.
Without a typed reference range, general models guess it. Across 726,000 requests the guessed lower limit varied by a median 26.5 %, and 8 % of outputs were not in the requested format.
Frontiers in Artificial Intelligence, 2025 ↗Age and sex get lostAccuracy depended on context: it rose from 0.80 to 0.92 when models were given reference ranges, and age and sex biases appeared (blood pressure, BMI).
npj Digital Medicine, 2026 ↗It misses patternsEven the best-rated model gave some answers that were inaccurate or not tailored to the person.
JMIR, 2024 ↗Same question, different answersAsked the same clinical question several times, chatbots gave consistent answers only 26–68 % of the time (guideline questions on sciatica).
Frontiers in Digital Health, 2025 ↗Too calm and too alarmed — at onceIn a structured triage test of ChatGPT Health (960 responses), 51.6 % of emergencies were under-triaged and 64.8 % of non-urgent cases over-triaged.

- Bring both to your doctor — the explained report and the questions the chat helped you write.
Good to know
Is ChatGPT wrong about blood tests?
Usually not. The best models flag out-of-range values with high accuracy. The problem is what it doesn’t know: your lab’s ranges, your age and sex, your last report — and that it answers differently each time.
Can I use both?
Yes, and we recommend it. Get your explained report here, then copy it into ChatGPT as context. General AI is a good conversation partner once it knows your numbers, ranges and sources.
Where does the data come from?
From 131 markers in our knowledge base, each with a published source (WHO, ESC/EAS, European Thyroid Association, EFSA, AHA/CDC, Endocrine Society and others) and 26 age- and sex-specific range sets.
Does Blood Lab 360 use AI too?
For reading the file and for the chat, yes — but the ratings come from fixed, sourced ranges, not from a language model. The same report always gets the same rating.
Can ChatGPT read blood test results?
Yes, it can read the numbers and explain the terms. It does not know your lab’s range, your age and sex or your last report unless you type them in, and it can answer the same question differently. Give it the lab range and units for every value, and check anything important with your doctor.
Is it safe to upload my blood test to ChatGPT?
Remove your name, birth date, insurance number and barcode first. Health data is a special category under GDPR. Switch off model training in Data Controls or use a Temporary Chat. ChatGPT Health is currently available only to adults in the U.S., not in the EU.
What is a good ChatGPT prompt for blood test results?
State your age and sex, list each value with its unit and the lab’s reference range, add medicines, fasting and pregnancy, and ask for uncertainty, questions for your doctor and sources. Our blog has a copy-ready template.
Where does my report go?
It is processed and stored in your browser. For the chat, your measured values are sent to our AI processor with your separate consent. ChatGPT Health is currently available only in the U.S.; consumer ChatGPT is not a medical device.
